OK, I know it's early to call "which MP has said the most blatantly disgusting thing today" but Johnny Mercer on Sky this morning claims "people using food banks is a lifestyle choice and part of their budgetting measures".
If your household budget does not stretch as far as BEING ABLE TO FEED YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY, that is NOT a choice. 🤬 #Foodbanks#CostOfLivingCrisis#ToryBastards#UKPolitics
Well, I've got my coffee and croissants (and a cardigan to hand, just in case!), so let's see which part of the world has turned to shit overnight. sigh
Shout out to all the under 30s on here who just wanted to have somewhere nice and non-fascist to hang out and find themselves surrounded by people talking about cardigans and how good the 90s were 👋🥰 #Youngsters
@dgar That's twice in two days you've given me nightmares. That film was so traumatic, I can't believe it was supposed to be for kids. I remember being in a market in Amsterdam where there was a stall second hand DVDs and there was a guy buying it. I asked him whether he was going to get it for his kids and when he said yes, I spent a good 10 minutes telling him how terrifying and scarring it was!
Wish me luck - I'm heading to the office again today, thankfully not for laptop issues, but to try and help sort out years worth of accumulated stuff, ahead of the office being reorganised.
@emsquared@Hey_Beth Yeah, I saw that once you get "accepted" to Bluesky you can "invite" 60 other people but it's still in beta, so I doubt it'll be much better than Twatter for now. It'll end up being a celebrity self-promotion love-in and/or a talking shop (talking to themselves) for political commentators.
