fmstrat,

It’s the other way around. He has money. He needs more followers (donates). He’s buying them.

fmstrat,

WSL definitely. It’s a gateway drug I’ve peddled to many a developer.

fmstrat,

Who signed off on that bail? Noooo he’s not a flight risk. /s

Japan Still Has Ninjas — But They’re About to Go Extinct (psnaudus.medium.com)

In 2012, Jinichi Kawakami emerged as the last surviving ninja grandmaster. Kawakami believed that the art of ninjutsu has no place in the modern age, as we have better weapons, the internet, and better medicines. Masaaki Hatsumi, another surviving ninja grandmaster, has not appointed an heir. Once Kawakami and Hatsumi pass away,...

fmstrat,

It wasn’t until the age of eighteen, when he was given access to the clan’s ancient scrolls, that Kawakami finally realized the purpose behind his decades of training

Hmmmmm

fmstrat,

To convert the biosensor from detecting amyloid beta to coronavirus, the researchers exchanged the antibody that recognizes amyloid beta for a nanobody from llamas that recognizes the spike protein from the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Llamas are the heros we need.

fmstrat,

Mr DeYoung said he intended to press charges against Mr Chapman.

Thank you.

… has found itself out of power in the state legislature for the first time in four decades.

Thank you.

fmstrat,

Yay for the lawyers who voluntarily chose to represent him? I guess?

fmstrat,

Good find. Lemmy really needs a good backpacking community, a shame they’re all reddit reposts with no discussion.

fmstrat,

This will be very difficult. With Lemmy being open source (which is good), bot maker’s can just avoid the pitfalls they see in the system (which is bad).

fmstrat,

Op too young to realize who made Reddit popular to begin with.

fmstrat,

As The New York Times reported, “White House counsel, Pat A. Cipollone, and the White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, repeatedly and aggressively pushed back on the ideas being proposed, which went beyond the special counsel idea, those briefed on the meeting said. Mr. Cipollone told Mr. Trump there was no constitutional authority for what was being discussed, one of the people briefed on the meeting said. Other advisers from the White House and the Trump campaign delivered the same message throughout the meeting, which stretched on for a long period of time.” As CNN notes, “shouting and insults ensued” and “the night ended with Trump tweeting that a coming gathering in Washington, DC, on January 6, 2021, to protest the election results ‘will be wild.’”

Also said to be of interest to investigators is December 14, 2020, the day a slate of fake GOP electors signed certificates falsely claiming Trump had won the election; investigators have reportedly focused on “efforts to recruit the illegitimate electors, have them sign certificates falsely asserting Trump had won, and then use them as a pretense to pressure then vice president Mike Pence to delay certification of Biden’s Electoral College win on January 6.”

Last week a man was arrested in Barack Obama’s DC neighborhood after Trump, prosecutors say, shared what he claimed was the former president’s address.

fmstrat,

Not just number but quality. It was all memes at the start, now actual conversation is happening in more than just a few posts.

fmstrat,

Totally agree, I don’t mean to demean the memes.

fmstrat,

If you liked Sync, you should try Thunder.

fmstrat,

I wrote github.com/fmstrat/lcs a while back which does similar, but only grabs Top feed communities to reduce load.

fmstrat,

Glad it’s working out for you.

I think the average person just simply doesn't care about their privacy.

In some of the music communities I’m in the content creators are already telling their userbase to go follow them on threads. They’re all talking about some kind of beef between Elon and Mark and the possibility of a boxing match… Mark was right to call the people he’s leaching off of fucking idiots.

fmstrat,

Best thing Lemmy signups could do is ask “What’s your primary interest?” And randomly select an instance that has that category.

fmstrat,

Contributers are pretty active on GitHub. You can find releases there, too.
