I used to make websites. I wrote “Design for Community.” I designed the original Blogger. I created JPG Magazine, Fray, Kvetch, Cute-Fight, and more.

Now I grow flowers and turn them into CBD products for https://milkbarn.farm. I take care of 30-something chickens, 13 goats, 3 dogs, 2 cats, and my wife and myself in Boring, Oregon.

Nazis, TERFs, and Republicans can fuck off. Do not explain capitalism to me.

Ok folks, how pervasive do we think bots / influence accounts are in the fediverse these days? I’m seeing a fair bit more of the reactionary and inflammatory content typical of these recently.

@daniel_meyers I think the fedi is still too small for influence operations to give a shit about, so, sadly, what we're seeing is real people who really believe stupid shit.

Did you know BMI is a dumb ratio?

I don't mean the concept itself is dumb. I mean it's literally a ratio involving weight and height. That's it. No other context.

I had a gym rat of a boss with 11% body fat with an obesity BMI due to dense muscle.

I guarantee you Kim Kardashian, with her absurdly small waist line, but large butt and chest, has an obesity BMI.

Body composition is a way more accurate measure. BMI doesn't measure body composition, no matter what others will tell you.

@scottandrew men like him always think they’re the exception. That everyone else “caves” to the “demands” of community management. As if people were computers that just needed the right software and then there’d be no more problems.
