For the time being consider blocking direct messages from people you don't follow.

Log in through your browser and go to Settings/Preferences/Notifications and tick the box "Block direct messages from people you don't follow" and save.

No news of getting rid of RSS is good news in my book.
At least for now I guess...

Hi the reason that I can no longer participate in the broader Left: leftists out here being "dev politics aside" when dev politics include some kind of National Bolshevism. Nazbol is fash, period. Browser plugins like https://github.com/SmartRSS/Smart-RSS or https://github.com/shevabam/get-rss-feed-url-extension can display (hidden) feeds.

Sites like https://discovery.thirdplace.no/ work similarly.

And a scraper like https://politepol.com/en/ can generate a feed for sites that don't have one.

As a last resort, try contacting the site's staff.
I have been pleasantly surprised at how many are willing to implement RSS or fix broken feeds.

Their ambitions for RSS were not to advance the standard, but to dominate and control the already existing web-based reader market.
And to integrate the open standard into their walled garden, Google+.
Two years before Google Reader was shut down, the "+1" was added to further push their new social network.

Being able to read full articles in a RSS reader reduces the level of control and tracking of users, resulting in less efficient targeting for advertisers.

For anyone experiencing problems playing Twitch VODs via mpv+yt-dlp, adding demuxer=lavf to mpv.conf fixes the problem.

A recent ffmpeg commit seems to be the reason, resulting in short clips of several seconds instead of the full VOD.
