Premium is finally available in the Republic, so I subscribed to it. It's cheap (23 CZK~$1/month).

It's not just a handy way to anonymize your email, it's also a way to financially support the only independent web browser left.

Mrs Kozuch is my new favourite fictional theoretical physicist!
An absolute must-read, imho.

Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

https://bookwyrm.social/book/256196/s/station-eleven

This was a surprising book for me. Struggled a bit in the beginning, but then got completely absorbed.
A nomadic performer's life in the after-apocalypse world without the gruesomeness we (too often?) get to experience in modern stories.

@wullemaha @fantasy Thx. I just saw on Goodreds that a few people had it marked as "reading" and got curious .)

Shards of Earth, The Final Architecture series by Adrian Tchaikovsky.

It has not been destroyed, it's been architected!
AT is a prolific writer and this has been an enjoyable book by the man. Not in the vein of Children of Time, but good still.

Feel like moving the other two books up in my 2023 TBR list.

I am stuck at page 45. One of the books which make me do half an hour googling after reading a single page :)
I'm going to have this one in the "currently reading" slot for a while.

Howling Dark, The Sun Eater series by Christopher Ruocchio.

His Radiance is a tad more "real" individual in the second book. Plus, once you leave the sorry planet-bound settings and throw in humongous semi-sentient starships and mythical AI elements, things get juicier. Well played, Had.

The 7 Moons of Maali Almeida, by S. Karunatilaka: you are a recently dead gay Sri Lankan war photographer, who must navigate a 7 day purgatory while finding your killers, dealing with the love life you screwed up, and managing an afterlife that is as horrifying as the world you lived in. 4 of 5 library cats 🐈 🐈 🐈 🐈.

So, there's a based on The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen coming!

My inner bookworm tells me to stay away from it to spare myself another "book to TV show" disappointment. But, one never knows :)
