Looking to my #SF folks for some guidance. I know TogetherSF's lobbying arm is an astroturf group dedicated to policies that I strongly oppose.

Their nonprofit arm also sponsors events like neighborhood cleanups. My co-teacher has been thinking about having our students volunteer on one of those cleanups. As a progressive, should I steer us away from them? I will of course be open with the kids about the politics involved and let them help make the decision.

Even if Hamas had been using the hospital as a command center, it would have been incumbent upon the IDF to figure out how to get them out without committing war crimes. 'They're using human shields, therefore it's their fault when we make the active decision to kill the shields' is not, in my opinion, a morally defensible position.

Today is A's fan reverse boycott day! Fans will be packing the stadium to show that #Oakland loves their A's, just not their ownership. Why are over-the-counter allergy medications so expensive???!!!!

The last time I took something like high dose Allegra every day it was prescription and so covered by my insurance.

I am now dealing with a situation where I was told to take 24-hour allergy pills twice a day, and have taken to haunting our local Grocery Outlet to see if they have the extra-cheap generics. I am privileged in that I can technically afford to buy them at the pharmacy but Jesus H. Christ.

Update: #Mint is being shut down and users are being shunted over to Credit Karma, which is not budgeting software and has almost zero functionality for that purpose. I am now trying #Simplifi from Quicken, which is so far pretty good. It does cost money ($28 per year with discount). More importantly it does not yet have the feature to exclude part of a split transaction from your budget, which was one of my most-used Mint features. #budgeting #personalfinance

I just watched a TikTok about attending one's first #opera, and the number of people in the comments who didn't know there were subtitles is making me very sad.
