20. When did you first know you wanted to be a writer?
While I've dabbled in writing before, I think it was 2018 or so (at the tender age of 42) when I came across this massive links list of public domain German-language folk tale collections at Wikisource.
And then I realized how few of them had ever been translated into English.
And then I thought to myself: "Hello, business idea!" And the rest, as they say, was history.
Back in 2008 when I lived in the USA for two months (in Columbus, OH), I did notice that groceries were rather expensive when compared to Germany - excepting beef.
Techbrodudes reinvent something that's been around for ages, only making it worse.
You know, public transit has been around for AGES before you got your grubby little rent-seeking mitts on it and tore it down, you festering horde of goblins!
I've been having some online-based conversations about the #Gaza War with an American Jew as of late.
He is a #Zionist and is convinced that the overall goal of #Palestinians is not only the destruction of the state of #Israel (an admittedly unrealistic goal), but also to drive all the Jews from this reborn #Palestine .
Personally, I am dubious. My assumption is that just like not all Israelis want to destroy the remaining Palestinian territories and drive their inhabitants out, so do not all Palestinians wish to drive out the Jews from a hypothetical future Greater Palestine.
But that's just my assumption - I don't really have a good overview of what various Palestinian groups want in terms of long-term goals. So can anyone share some good links and citations with me on this (since I no longer trust Google with search results, and with this topic less than most)?
Note that this is a private conversation, not a public one. And he has valued my perspective on other matters in the past, so I am trying to get him to see that there is another perspective in this matter as well.
@IngoHeinscher Yes, that's the goal of Hamas. The question is whether their goals are representative of the wishes of Palestinians as a whole.
And Hamas is largely financed by forces outside of the country - and we should not forget that Netanjahu explicitly encouraged the financing of Hamas by Qatar for many years, in order to build up a counterweight to Fatah.
@IngoHeinscher While the Israeli government has not announced their goal of expelling all Palestinians from the lands they have been living on for centuries, but in actual practice this is what they are doing.
But just as Israelis are more than the Netanjahu government and the settler movement, so are Palestinians more than Hamas.
@IngoHeinscher I can understand it, but I can also understand that many Palestinians have a perspective on this conflict that is very understandable as well.
And if this overall conflict - and not just this particular war - is to end at some point, it is utterly necessary that both sides understand each others' perspective.
Hence I am trying to convey the Palestinian perspective to the American Jew I was talking about earlier. And when I am talking to Muslims, I'll try to make them understand the Israeli perspective.
I don't expect them to agree with it, but that understanding is an important first step.

Well, it's not entirely wrong. Sooner or later, you need to be confident enough in your writing that you can hit the "Send" or "Publish" button. If you don't believe in your own writing, then who will?

@moonmoth@belchion 600 Quellen könnten hinkommen, aber ich habe nur einen Bruchteil davon gelesen.
Das ist natürlich ein ziemliches Nischenthema - die meisten Sagensammlungen sind über eine bestimmte Region, und ein paar wenige sind über ein bestimmtes Thema (z.B. Wrubels "Bergmännische Sagen").
Ich habe seit meiner Jugend fast immer nur Jeans getragen, muss aber inzwischen einsehen, daß die für Radtouren nicht ideal sind. Was für Stoffhosen könnt ihr für längere Radtouren insbesondere jetzt im Sommer empfehlen?
Hinweis: Ich bin nicht an Kunststoff-Hosen interessiert!
