Starting to play around with a new design idea. Many ideas start out as very simple bits of code that evolve with each iteration. I thought I'd share the progression that I've done so far so you can see how the work changes. None of these have been plotted yet, they're just previewed on the screen.

Retro Friends: I’m starting to plan out my trip to my first VCF East and I’m not sure what to expect and therefore pack! Are there repair opportunities should I pack my kit and tools? What’s the food sitch on site should I being like snacks or grab a sandwich on the way in for lunch? If you know me you know I’m a planner (woo anxiety!) so any advice for a first timer would be awesome!

@paulrickards Your exhibit is totally on my list - I was gonna do one with my plotter but yours sounds way better! Do you have any knowledge of digitizing tablets? I have one I got at KFest that I am trying to fiind software for - Penguin Graphics' Space Tablet.

@paulrickards Yes for Apple II - It hooks to the Joystiuck port. It's a bit of a rare odd duck so I tend to ask everyone :P

I am happy to announce I am extremely back on my bullshit. Circles plotted from BASIC with Keyplot, and the fancee bit was from MacPlot II (I got it talking to my Mac Plus also. And no I don't know why it's plotting funny from that machine.)

if I had more time and money and electrical engineering experience I'd waste a lot of it building a universal low/zero-latency KVM system.

I just want to be able to mix modern machines and ones that use PS/2/XT keyboards and VGA displays. As well as being universally modular and expandable, in case I need to hook up 20 486s for some reason

Okay there are massive gaps in my knowledge of 68K Macs and it is starting to show. Trying to get the version of MacPlot on Mac Garden (https://macintoshgarden.org/apps/macplot-professional-405v2 ) loaded on the Plus since it will drive the but I can’t get it to unstuff or image into something I can use. I can run the 4.5 installer but I can’t find the go file? Help!! I want plot more than lines and circles in BASIC!! Any peeps that can lend a hand?

@paulrickards I can unpack them in SHeepShaver, I have that installed as well if that is what needs to happen. I need 800K images and I also have a Powerbook that can make 800K disks for me.

@paulrickards The other problem I am having is when I unpack them they are in .img format which DiskCopy can't read or do anythjing with so I'm stuck as to how to get them into something the Plus can read, either by mounting the images or by making 800K disks on my 1400.

I have not written a BASIC program since like middle school. I know it’s not clean code but it’s WORKING code and that make me happee!

I did a thing. I sent the plotter a command from BASIC under DOS 3.3. I cannot explain how excited I am about this.

@paulrickards I do in fact! The pen holder was cracked and I've had to glue it, one pen isn't very stable but it works. I used it to make that self-test. I am working with a few other people in the A2 community to get it scanned/modeled into a 3D printing file!

I got some cool toys at Kansasfest this year! Artsy stuff (plotter and tablet) stuff to make my ][ stock and a few other neat bits. I had a great time seeing everyone and had a blast until Uninvited Guest showed up.

I'm fine, tested negative and on the mend! More soon!
