Playing with #fedora #coreos on physical nodes, it enables using OCI container images as base of physical nodes OS and rebasing physical nodes between different OCI images, complete with blue/green style rollback. Playing now

I’ve got a growing temptation to try out #Fedora #silverblue for my desktop.

Having been on #debian based stuff since forever I’m nervous.

The jump to immutable style #linux as desktop is mix of “oooh cool” and “will this get annoying?”

Anyone else using it as daily driver?

OpenAI and Cloudflare both send emails about T&C changes on Christmas Day.

No grounds for it, but this makes me suspicious. My brain instantly thinks “Trying to get something out while folks aren’t paying attention?”

Today I ran a script which did “sudo rm -rf $variable/*”

Problem was, due to a bug, $variable was empty string.

Never been so happy to be in a #codespace - berated myself for 3mins while waiting for me new one then carried on working.

Experimenting with weird layouts on the #ZSA #Voyager reveals that I have very strong touch-type muscle memory for the #neo2 layout.

When I'm stuck, I begin typing the wrong keys by moving fingers reflexively, and I know that it's NEO2 keys which are supposed to be there.

Go install a clipboard manager, it's really worth it.

Been using one for a while and spending today on a machine without it has highlighted how much time it saves.

Taken me a while to realise why I’m enjoying the #steamdeck so much.

The killer feature is the instant standby and resume. It’s worked flawlessly for me in every game.

From “oooh I’ve got a few mins to play a game” to playing a game is 15/20sec, it’s still there from last time, no loading, just resume and go.
