I don't claim to have the answers to anything, but I thought about this a little yesterday during my spa day.

🤜🏾 How to fight #fascism.🤛🏾

Voting doesn't stop fascism. Not when the party that's supposed to oppose it seems pretty inept at even recognizing it's on our doorstep.

(Don't come at me about Joe. Just don't.)

So it's up to us. I've mentioned that speech by Mario Savio (thanks to the folks who identified that for me!) in the 60s about throwing our bodies onto the gears of the machine when the machine has become odious to operate.

That's where we are. Looking at a machine is starting to gear up faster and faster.

So here are my measly two cents and they're free to anyone - Black, white, whoever:

👥 Identify, build, and support (which includes defense) your chosen community.

(note: if there's a community that you want to join please don't put on your big britches and start stomping around.)

🛠️ Find your wrenches, big or small, and hurl them into the part of the machine that's in front of you.

@DeliaChristina I feel like this is a powerful message - I believe Capital is made up of people. Corporations are mechanisms driven by the choices people make. We need people with consciouses in places to make choices, no matter how small, that will liberate us. Sometimes that is big subversion and sometimes it’s very incremental. What’s important is that we remember that we have the ability to choose. What the fascists want more than anything is for us to believe that our choices don’t matter

My gruff, but lovable, biker neighbor just pounded on my door, handed me a massive bowl of homemade cioppino with the biggest prawns I’ve ever seen, muttered “merry Christmas” with a lit cigarette dangling from his lip and dashed off like an elf in leather chaps to wassail some other neighbors. Friends, I ate that fish stew like a gremlin standing over my sink. Got bless us every one

A collector has uploaded nearly every "Chick Tract" from Chick Publications into one easy to read and browse item.

If you've never heard of these, they're absolutely often-vile religious conversion pamphlets with weirdly comforting comic-book artwork accompanying the apocalyptic and guilt-throwing message.

@textfiles there’s a local weirdo who has been furtively distributing them around my town. I chased him off one of my favorite cupcake stores that were horrified once they actually read what he had asked them to leave on their counter. He’s been actively targeting businesses that kids frequent. He ran away from me when I asked him what he was doing. So much for witnessing.

I cannot endorse @dansinker and https://indictment.fyi/ enough. Drop him a sawbuck if you have the scratch. I recommend signing your parents up for these summaries if, like mine, they obsessively keep MSNBC on in the background and get overly stressed out. It’s certainly helped keep my dad grounded, and I really feel like I owe Dan something, as it’s allowed me to talk to my dad about other, more pleasant things. I’d rather not relive watergate with the few years I have left with my pop.

I told my partner about - she’s not on Mastodon, but she wanted me to share these. She’s a teacher, and most of these are bouquets from her students and their family’s. They bring her so much joy, and she hopes they bring you some too.

“Those Who Hunt at Night” by Savage Master. Very reminiscent of in a great way. Feisty, brutal riffs and plenty of attitude, in keeping with the best parts of Halford’s transgressive challenging.
