Seeing a lot of Reddit posts like this. Maybe, just maybe, this is actually a growing sentiment in Australia and there's a minuscule chance something will be done about it?
Missing product: a very small battery backup UPS that can deliver a full 10A to (say) a NAS for just the second or three it takes the house to switch to battery during a grid outage. You can get high-current/high-capacity and low-current/low-capacity, but not high-current/low-capacity. #solar
@chendo@sentience depends on the outage type. If it’s due to slow falling frequency (ie overloaded grid), it’ll be more or less instant. Sudden drop there would be a slight delay
F*ck there are some selfish people about. On a train to Frankston and there's a person in front of us on a loud speaker call with the phone held a couple of centimetres from her ear. Use it properly or use headphones, for Christ's sake.
@decryption I was literally looking them up for my kids a few days ago! And with cheap PCBs out of china I reckon it wouldn’t be difficult to resurrect some of those kits.
