Humanity's population is bound to collapse sharply, sooner or later. The population explosion humanity witnessed after the industrial revolution was a historical aberration in the grand scheme of things. I expect the human population to stabilize at around a couple of billion people in the coming centuries. While the population will decline, the average human will probably be more skilled and have greater tools.

The Caspian Sea is drying up. This will have serious negative consequences for the greater Middle East, especially the landlocked dictatorship of Azerbaijan, which is too busy trying to wipe out the Armenian people instead of focusing on existential threats like climate change. As the Caspian Sea dries up, rainfall over Turkey (the source of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers) will also decrease.

I love how America has to pretend that it needs to convince its overseas colony, #Israel, to accept a ceasefire in #Gaza / #Palestine, when in reality it can just stop sending weapons and money to the Israelis, without which the war would end in less than 48 hours. My cynical prediction is that Israel's arms will be twisted and a 2-state solution will be imposed on the Israelis once they've murdered enough Palestinians in retribution for October the 7th.

I'm no fan of #NATO, not least because I see it as a tool of US imperialism, but I believe it's vital for #Ukraine to restore its territorial integrity and push #Russia back to the UN/int'lly-recognized borders. If Russia wins, others will try the same thing. Venezuela wants to annex half of Guyana, Azerbaijan wants to annex southern Armenia, Iraq still dreams about reannexing Kuwait, etc. Ironically, without the US hegemon, Europe would descend into interstate wars too.

You know, it's awfully hard for me to take #SouthAfrica's genocide case against #Israel seriously when a South African company literally just got the go-ahead to produce combat drones for notorious human rights violator Saudi Arabia, which I'm pretty sure the blood-soaked Wahhabi Saudi monarchy would inevitably use against the oppressed people of Yemen. Money over principles, I guess. Way to go, South Africa. Talk about swiftly undoing your reputation.
