@isotopp Software? Hardware is fast spannender, Siemens HiPath bzw OpenScape ist dir ja bestimmt ein Begriff. Das ist ja jetzt Unify und gehört auch zu Atos.

I have some haunting memories of the smell of that stuff because I cleaned a set of devices for a client with it for two days straight and it really made me not enjoy any drinks with orange zests in them, leave alone orange juice... for. weeks. but! If you need to clean a surface and don't want to use heavy solvents, give WEICON Industrial Citrus Cleaner (with lemonene being the main cleaning agent) a try! It dissolves left over adhesives in the blink of an eye. (not a paid advertisement)

Out of my 6 usual FM radio stations this morning, three are static, one is a dead carrier, one is running at severely reduced power, and one is fully operational.

I think we've got a communications infrastructure resilience problem.

It's crazy how fast or slow some devices are copying firmware stuff.
Has 2x100G connectivity, pulling firmware from TFTP with ~50KB/s, with SFTP with 200KB/s. Even if the control-plane is only connected with a 1G link to the data-plane, how can it be THAT slow. Would have been faster to drive there and that device isn't even in Germany. Other (identical) devices were a lot faster.

A Nokia ixr-e, but that one (in Amsterdam) is way slower than all the others, no idea why. Maybe something to investigate later, after the upgrades

Das ist doch auch so eine typische Windowsfehlermeldung:
"Der Zeitdienst hat festgestellt, dass die Systemzeit um 60224 Sekunden geändert werden muss. Die Systemzeit kann durch den Zeitdienst um maximal 4294967295 Sekunden geändert werden."

    I love that Mercedes car radios list the frequency next to DAB station names.
    Yep, frequency is useful info for FM/AM.
    Completely useless for DAB.

    No DAB radio lets you tune by frequency. And that’s not the frequency of a station anyway. That’s the frequency of the multiplex, Digital One in this case, which has ~25 radio stations on it!

    @mattgrayyes still remember the day we were driving towards Scotland. I had a radio which seamlessly switched from DAB to FM (internal buffering). It was a hilly road and DAB only worked upwards (or downwards? whatever), so it switched back and forth every 20-30 seconds for many miles. FM had that typical background noise, which DAB does not. Was fun ^^

    @mattgrayyes it was an aftermarket radio and I bought es specifically because it scored high in the "switches seamlessly" test.
    No idea how it handles the PI codes though, didn't notice anything weird. I could bring it to EMF though (the car is gone but I kept the radio, want to put it in the caravan but don't have an idea for speakers yet)
