Being an adult means realizing that while you love cat-sitting, having an actual cat will not work for you, because OMG, a week and there is so much cat hair! Everywhere!
@vicgrinberg you will get accustomed to it and develop a much more relaxed attitude towards vacuuming. Also your sleep habits and sleep positions will change over time. :)
Struggling a bit with the API of a #python library I write. I want to provide classes with sync and async methods. I am not sure if I prefer to use a single class with unprefixed and a-prefixed methods. Or if I want one class for sync and one for async behaviours. And if I split it in separate classes would you prefix the methods with an ‚a‘ in the async class?
I wouldn’t normally post something personal like this, but I feel compelled to.
It seems my mother-in-law’s cancer may have taken a turn for the worse. She had to be hospitalized last night and it doesn’t look great. It’s reminding me a lot of when my mom passed from her cancer a couple of years ago, where there’s a line that is crossed — before crossing it seems like the progress is up and down, better and worse. But once that line’s crossed it’s all down from here.
@josh this so tough to hear. If been throw this nightmare too. I lost my mom to cancer. I had cancer myself. I hope it is just a short low and she gets better again. My thoughts are with her, you and your family.
✨ One #Vivaldi gripe is that I can never remember how to rearrange the icons in my extension panel. They rarely change order, but every once in a while, I need to re-install an extension, and all ordering hell breaks loose.
Turns out, you have to hold down the ⌘ key, then click and drag on the extension icon before letting go of the ⌘ key and then your mouse button.
Perfect, the combination of playwright, trafilatura and scrapinghub extracts all the information I need from a webpage. My little #python project evolves nicely.
The screenshot shows the power of trafilatura. With a single statement it creates wonderful #markdown from any webpage it can extract content from. Extracting links, keeping the basic markup and structure, and dereference relative links.
@webology Thanks for the hint. I just tried it for one site, were I also was unable to create a result and it simply blocked anything what is not a browser. May be, I should use Playwright for all request in my little scraper.
