Hey without family in the country. How do you organise your will and guardianship of children?

It's in my TODO list years and I don't know if our immigration system would work for my family.

i.e. if something ever happened to me and my wife, I'd want them to stay in NZ, not to return to my home country.

    My oldest kid is at the age where we need to start learning how Uni fees are calculated and start saving for it.

    It seems I need a Uni degree just to understand how they actually charge their fees?

    I studied overseas, so what I had to pay was a yearly flat fee for full-time study. Why must it be so complicated here?

    @robert_p_king I’m afraid that by the time my son enters uni (he’s in Year 10), a potential National govt would have removed the free fees :(
    That being said, how did you estimate the amount of debt they are going to accrue?

    People with multiple issues, what would you suggest for me?

    I’m shortsighted, have astigmatism and now I’m adding presbyopia to my list of issues.

    I spend a large chunk of my day on the computer, so I’ve been reading about progressive or bifocals not being the best for it. Is that true?

    I’m currently trying contacts with readers, but it’s annoying to have to carry the readers or 2 pairs of glasses everywhere.

    Is there an alternative?

    @rolle Thanks for sharing the links. It’s going to be interesting to see how it unfolds. Is it funded by Twitter or former Twitter people? The GitHub link said it was the former but I suspect it’s the latter?

    @c3141mtd @rolle Yeah, that’s why I wish it had ActivityPub integration so I could connect with the people but I have no desire in leaving Mastodon
