I was thinking earlier that it would be pretty cool to have an -powered app that uses something like the old feature that, in turn, supports post formats that other services use.

For example, the app can post regular posts like this one, structured link posts that work with services like , galleries through @pixelfed and videos through .

Unless automatically reformats posts based on what they contain when a user of services like these receives them in their feeds? I'm not sure how this works under the metaphorical hood. 🤔

Anyone know of a theme with a header image that actually works with so that it becomes the Mastodon header image? I’m new to this and haven’t gotten it to work on my blog account: @bryan

@tim @inthedeltawaves @pfefferle @bryan it's currently a feature of themes, that I re-use ( https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/get_header_image/ ). I will work on an alternative, if themes does not support that feature.

Huge news 🥳

WordPress now has 3,000 ActivityPub plug-in installs.

Which means that on a per node basis, WordPress’s install base is appr. 25% comparative to the size of Mastodon’s install base.

If I were to hazard a guess, WordPress is now the 2nd largest Fediverse server software in terms of active nodes.

In terms of Fediverse server installs, it’s more than possible that WordPress could overtake Mastodon.

There is another site that tries to tag profiels, but this is not limited to WordPress https://fediverse.info/explore/people

@inthedeltawaves I am glad that you finally got it up running! Sorry for the hassle! It’s nice to have a such diverse hosting landscape but it is hard, on the other side, to support every edge case and some times it is not even possible to work around some setups!

@harmonicarichard that is the nice thing with the plugin... you do not have to do much... simply do the same as always, but others can subscribe to your blog on the fediverse... or RSS, Atom, ... :)

You want to decide what post you want to share and what not? This was requeted quite some time and I will add an option for that in a future release. Like enable/disable comments on a post!

I'm increasingly getting the feeling that one of these days I need to reactivate LID -- Light-Weight Digital Identity -- my entry into and created more or less by accident in 2004. Then folded into the larger movement. Some of its more interesting features were adopted by other identity protocols over time, but some others are still unique and would be very useful now that the decentralized, user-owned, social web is waking back up.
