but some tricks are so inventive and creative that the how is more impressive than the trick itself.

tell me about the slight of hand, show me that skill you have of sliding a pencil behind your watch in a tenth of a second. that skill is more impressive.

Back when Fox Reality Channel still existed, they aired a 20 episode series where a magician showed how each trick worked.

According to his wiki article, he was shunned by the industry for it and sued a few times.

I'd have never ever watched 20 episodes of just magic tricks. I was mesmerized by the engineering and cleverness behind them.
