For those who aren’t aware, Microsoft have decided to bake essentially an infostealer into base Windows OS and enable by default.

From the Microsoft FAQ: “Note that Recall does not perform content moderation. It will not hide information such as passwords or financial account numbers."

Info is stored locally - but rather than something like Redline stealing your local browser password vault, now they can just steal the last 3 months of everything you’ve typed and viewed in one database.

Consider, then, using the APIs that black out the screen for DRM'd content, on chat apps.

What's funny is that they're being replaced by ChatGPT because ChatGPT can write repetitive listicles and summaries of leaks/announcements, sometimes recycling the same leak/announcement for like 5 articles.

Actually doing investigative journalism and calling out hypocrisy in action would not be as easily automated by a graphics card.

Sounds like a slippery slope.

If I did anything like that, I'd limit it to keywords, and expose to the end user which keyword resulted in the post being shown. No analytics of any kind.

It would basically only be usable for jokes. Intentionally gimped so it's tongue-in-cheek and useless for business.

The paid service is gonna be a longer retention period, firehose, and maybe webhooks/push notifications (I want to make those free)
