    I just read another news article about why mastodon didn’t make it and is dying. It’s very sad to hear and probably explains why I have to keep adding more server capacity to handle all the people quitting mastodon.

    A tip for ARMY arriving from Twitter: a useful way to let people know your old/current Twitter handle is to add it as a field on your profile. You can do this is the settings section (under profile). I’ve included some screenshots of the edit screen and what it then looks like on your profile.

    A screenshot of my Mastodon profile, showing the properties I have configured in my profile settings. Ive added three: “Previously, on the bird site”, “Previously, on Mastodon” (my presence on other instances), and “website”.

    @moonchildontheblueside the main feature that will keep me on Ivory for now is how it lets me use lists. From my home feed I can swap to my lists in the same way I can swap from home to local, etc. (see screenshot). This is the only way I can manage my feed - I have my “VIP” list of people whose posts I don’t want to miss, because my home feed has too much. I can also “suppress from home” when adding people to lists, so I don’t get duplication in my home feed.
