Shoulder and tricep on the right side are still fucked up. I tried the weekly push-ups cautiously, but I only got to 5 reps and had to give up. It's a depressing setback, but I think it will heal.

@nitpicking Wrong! It helps immensely and nearly incontrovertibly. But I know you clicked on a link from the article I posted and you fell for yet another meaning, misleading "study."

Obviously, if one continues to eat junk food, not much is going to help.

@nitpicking Correct, anecdotes are not good evidence, but there are many, many studies here. There are a couple of outlier studies claiming to go the other way, though. You're exactly the guy who should be looking for flaws in the methodologies.

I just hit a major calisthenics goal. Sunday has been push-up day of late. I switched from classics to the "decline" variant last year after consistently exceeding 300 classics in three sets. (Best was 341 in April.) With the declines, since May, my feet have been elevated 11½ cm.

I've wanted to get to 200 or more of these in two sets ever since. Today I got there! I did a record 105 reps on Set 1 hours ago. Now I did 100 more in the second set! Hubba-hubba.

68 is the new 48.

@nitpicking Well, 80 secs is fine. I saw some videos by people I respect saying, basically, not to waste your time past 60 seconds on them. The point was that there are more useful things to do with your time for improvement. All that aside, I did one for 2:52 the other day, my longest attempt so far. I could have gone longer, but I wasn't trying to go to failure. It was just to see how it felt. (I was counting seconds in my head. The videotape showed me my count to 3 minutes was off.) 😅

I still post on , but the site is a pallid shadow of what it was. Interaction is almost nil now and has been so for months. I post and RT news critical of .

So, just now suddenly my interaction was interrupted and I was forced to complete an I.Q. test of sorts to "prove" I'm not a bot. And after I did that, which took five minutes, this notice was foisted on me.

I'm prepping an old laptop to sell. It's a really weird, creepy feeling to delete my wife and me as users. I have Win 10 and Linux Mint on it. I've added placeholder admin users. All is updated. The data partition is deleted. It all feels so — final, although we haven't used the laptop in two years.
