As always, your processing is excellent. Always a pleasure to pore over the details in your images!

Running into limits like that is sooo frustrating! But I remember back when the company I worked for then took delivery of the first PC-AT, and Bill Gates was quoted as declaring that "nobody needed more than 640K of memory"! Ah, how times have changed! 😃

"[U]sing Ingenuity on Mars to test our macro capabilities: flying higher and faster, landing at various speeds, and generally expanding the flight envelope to retire the associated risk for future Martian rotorcraft. The holy grail, however, is understanding the microscale – […] knowing how it flies faster."

That and more in a new blog post by Martin Cacan, Chief Pilot, and Shannah Withrow-Maser, Rotorcraft Aeromechanics Lead

Also a place that rents golf carts; if Optimuses can't walk across a level floor without stumbling, they'll never manage getting around the Neretva Resort and Campgrounds.

Very tricky, navigating through these rock fields. AutoNav must be scratching its head, at some points!

I wonder if "no-go" zones can be uploaded to AutoNav, to be very sure that it never ventures into soft regolith or other dangerous terrain. Wouldn't want Perseverance to get into the same situation that immobilized poor Spirit! 😬

I'm sure that Ingenuity's bird's-eye view was a big help in identifying some of those areas that could be problematic.

That and the indents made by the heli's feet when landing, too.

tom30519,

Think of the cool graphics they could produce, strobing those individual leds as the rotors spin!

With two layers, and a "frame" rate of 40 to 50 spins per second, should be very cool indeed! 😃 🎆 🎇
