I reprocessed the Sol 1110 Ingenuity image with AI-upscaling to improve visual fidelity.

As @65dBnoise already noted, there seems to be disturbed sand on the other side of the sand ripple. We are still hoping for SuperCam images of the area to get a better understanding of what happened.

@stim3on
That a panoramic view of Mars, taken by a robotic rover sent from Earth, and including a helicopter also sent from Earth, is made publicly available by NASA and with the generous contribution of @stim3on's time and expertise, is nothing short of amazing and wonderful.

And we have come to take these thing for granted, now. 🤔

What a great image, and, as always, excellent processing by @stim3on

Another eclipse photo, showing the solar prominences around the edge. I am told that these prominences are probably several times the diameter of the earth! Yikes.

@65dBnoise
The Sun is a scary place! Burning off gas for billions of years, with billions of years still to go. That's a lot of energy!

Very little processing on these images so far: 1:1 cropping, slight sharpening in Topaz. Otherwise, straight out of the camera.

Sony A7R3; Sony 200-600 @ 500mm; ND5 solar filter; Optron SkyGuider; interval timer; RRS tripod.

Exposure was ISO 200; f/11; 9-stop bracketing from 1/15 to 1/4000.

5 minute intervals during partial; 8 second intervals during totality.

I moved the setup down to the ground during the event; the deck was full of family causing vibrations! 😃

@elaterite
Thanks! I was lucky to live in the middle of the eclipse path, and that the sky was clear here, on Monday.

And I followed the excellent advice of eclipse photographer Fred Espenak for exposure, bracketing 9 stops. No do-overs with an eclipse! 😃

I wasn't exposing for the full corona, but this is what I was able to extract from the shadows. I know it extends far beyond what is shown here, but I was zoomed in too tightly to include it all. 🙃

Unprocessed photo, taken in southern Quebec. We were extremely fortunate that (a) my house was smack in the middle of the line of totality, and (b) the sky was perfectly clear throughout the event.

Now, with 9x bracketing, I have a mere 639 photos to evaluate, process and merge. But what an experience! Awesome, really.

Nice. We really lucked out with the weather - heavy snowfall and dark clouds up until Sunday morning, then ka-poof! it all cleared up.

I did 9-stop bracketing, so I will be merging images to show the corona as well as the flares and Bailey's Beads. The size if those flares is truly awesome to contemplate!

After weeks of dismal weather, not to mention 25cm of snow last week, I was sure we would have cloudy skies today. Cleared out completely Sunday afternoon, and stayed that way until sunset today. Lucky!

Here, in southern Quebec, the forecast is for more snow this week, possibly as much as 20cm. I hope it all clears up in time for the eclipse on the 8th!
