Starting a new job today as an Open Source Strategist, back at my previous employer, Samsung, but in a different team, the Open Source Group. So I guess you could say I'm pretty serious about .

I went to the dog park. Was talking to a guy. He asked what I did. I answered “tech”. He kept pressing so I said cybersecurity.

He said “like facial recognition and tracking people?”

I said, “no. Firewalls and the stuff that keeps your bank safe.”

Him: “so, you were in on flipping votes away from trump & stealing the election “

Me, “no. The stuff that makes you safe online“

Him: “you! You’re one of the ones that stole the election“

I walked away.

Hi @evan I'm trying to reply to your message https://www.threads.net/@evanprodromou/post/CynBEDDOgYu on Threads but it's totally non-functional for me for some reason so I'll reply here.

Some aspects of the Silicon Valley culture that I have encountered are arrogance, insularity, hero worship, and a winner-takes-all mentality – which combine to form a miasma of toxic behaviour and decision making. Even Pre-X Twitter suffered from these issues.
