For my money, the most impactful scene in The Great Gatsby is in the denouement where she says “truly, he was a great gatsby” & what’s-his-name retorts: no, Daisy, he was THE great gatsby.”

omg 12yo took about 27 seconds off her 100 butterfly and about 14 seconds off her 200 breaststroke. kid has LEVELED UP. she's challenging me to race (I deserve this) and talking sooo much trash on me (I deserve this)

I really want to take a close look at personal, local search engines. see what's been up in that space. my feeling is that regardless of what the big corps do, there's still room for community, forums, social whatever and expertise and curation on this great big internet, but it has to be accessible

    friends: I've heard that the Pilot MR/Metropolitian in Europe uses the international standard converter. is there a good way for me to get that in the US? Bonus points if the plain silver one is available this way.

    @timelordiroh you can get them online most places, like goulet pens or jet pens or goldspot. always good to have a few handy as that's a very common size

    I've had a few Mastodon accounts. One of them seemed to run its course, so it's done. Keeping up with this one. May create another later, and this is what makes the Fediverse so good: identities are weaker, shorter-lived; you can be yourself or just pick a name and go. It feels the old net again.

    family: When you have a cartridge/converter pen, do you prefer using a converter or a reusable cartridge?

    I've generally found converters to be more kind to me, i don't need to have anything extra to fill it up and cleaning it is very simple.

    @timelordiroh converters are easier, but I have a syringe and can refill cartridges. I've got a couple older pens with cartridge sizes I don't have converters for, too.
