    the box was full of an overwhelming number of stencils, curved edges, eraser brushes, fonts and even a slide rule

    the slide rule was once the proud treasure of one Gehres Weed, from the University of Montana, 1926 😮

    edit: I found his obit! he was an architectural draftsman, and died in 1995 at the age of 91 🤯

    I grew up in Saskatchewan - it has no time change, and some part of me still longs for that, but as much as I hate spring forward, fall back is one of my favourite days of the year, the day I wake up at what's apparently 6am and have an extra hour to hack on my game or do some writing or sit staring outside with a strong cup of coffee.

    all new programs i build start from a hand sketch of the ui and some general principles of interaction

    this one is a re-imagining of éric chahi’s 2d polygon editor used to build Another World

    his Deluxe Paint-styled UI is simple and friendly, and it has an elegance of function (see attached screenshots - courtesy of éric's website)

    i’m going to bring a bit of kai krause’s sense for interactivity and playfulness to make it something that makes you want to animate polygons 😊

    and of course, a cup of . all great programs begin with great espresso 😅
