I'm amazed I was able to hang with everyone yesterday. Thanks for doing the live stream.
I needed to art today so I am trying my hand at icons. If anyone wants to release what we made to the App Store I made some (nicer than ChatGPT) AI assisted icons.
I just sent out this month's Hacking with Swift newsletter, with the latest announcements for HWS+, book discounts, news from friends, and more. Get it delivered to your inbox every month here: https://twostraws.gumroad.com/subscribe
New: Build your next website in Swift! I recorded and transcribed the talk I delivered at try! Swift in Tokyo, which shows you how Swift's result builders can be used to generate HTML. It also explains why I created the Ignite project 🙂 https://www.hackingwithswift.com/articles/266/build-your-next-website-in-swift
In case you haven't yet made firm plans for #WWDC24, there are now events taking place from Saturday 8th through to Friday 14th, many of which are free to attend. It's going to be a blast! 🙌 We're tracking them all here: https://github.com/twostraws/wwdc
If you, like me, really disliked the glow / blooming on the M1/M2 iPad Pro display, you’ll be pleased to know it’s gone in the M4 🙌 I’m not sure how much it will be visible, but here’s a side by side comparison of new and old.
@twostraws@dimsumthinking good point! Did you try PaperLike? It made me use the pencil much more on my Pro 2018, it’s just a way better experience imo. I heard that nano-texture glass gives similar vibes. Not sure if worth upgrading though.
I've just listed the first five #WWDC24 watch parties on the WWDC Community repository! If you're organizing or attending one, please do open a PR to add it to the list – these watch events are a great way to share the excitement and make friends! https://github.com/twostraws/wwdc
@endareth No. In the Mashable review they played a video on loop at 50% screen brightness, and it lasted over 16 hours – that’s more than enough, even for heavy usage. Heck, even 8 hours is enough for a long iPad session.
@twostraws how is that possible? The old magic keypunch oops I mean keyboard is the best keyboard I ever used since the IBM 029 keypunch 🍸🙀 (and also the most I ever paid)
Tomorrow @mikaela__caron and I record the next episode of @swiftovercoffee, and we want your views on our next open ballot: is Swift Evolution working? Is it going in the right direction, do you follow along, do you discuss features in review? Let us know by replying below 👇
I had a proposal accepted (SE-0320). It’s a small thing, but process was great!
I got excellent feedback from Apple (Itai Ferber and Tom Doron) to get the proposal and PRs in shape for the review.
I can't thank you enough for how much I've learned from your #100daysofSwiftUI over the last few months.
I was going to wait till I finished the 100 days to subscribe but I feel like I can handle more Swift now so the subscription is not being wasted on me.
It took me longer than I would have liked, but I've just finished updating the GitHub repository for Hacking with iOS, so all 19 of the #100DaysOfSwiftUI projects are now targeting iOS 17, matching the tutorials. Apologies for the delay! https://github.com/twostraws/HackingWithSwift
@twostraws I did lose 1 hour this week with simulators that refused to start. It required, in addition to the XCode derived data incantation, a System Settings>General>About>storage settings>Developer(info)XCode Caches(click/highlight)>Delete…(plus confirm sheet) spell. Thank you StackOverflow
