@Neblib I am hoping so, I just updated my pihole blocklists because I noticed a bunch of UI ads crept back in. I am afraid for the day they try to start serving them in line with their main content. I might have to ditch the hardware then.

@Neblib I host a plex server on Windows on my old gaming pc which acts as a sort of informal file server as well. Should probably just redo it with linux and go the whole way but haven't had time yet.

@Neblib thanks! I go from working on a giant janky legacy .NET app to building new, smaller cloud first apps with js front ends. Good pivot for the ol resume.

Not sure why I didn’t do it years ago but I finally ditched Wordpress and built my blog with Hugo, a static site generator: https://zoness.me

For a small space that is essentially a rant zone, it’s absolutely perfect and has significantly reduced the complexity of deploying to new servers.

Also I moved off of Azure back to my previous host, Vultr. Turns out I just need a low powered VM for most things.

@Neblib So I at least got rel=“me” working which is much more trivial in Hugo than Wordpress so now my Mastodon profile shows my domain as verifying my identity which is nice but yeah that would be a good integration if I could figure out how to make it work.

No it hasn't. I literally migrated to Mastodon from Twitter, and I don't use Twitter anymore, but I do use Mastodon every day.

I call that a successful migration.

@retiolus @lemmy I'm pretty excited at and it's prospects. It has really rough edges and the federation is kind of hard to follow but the format is identical to reddit and it fills that niche nicely.
