Hunting dogs used for hunting aren't generally part of a farm operation, and hunting dog puppies aren't expected to behave at full performance, either. It's hard to pull much from the horse statement itself, but in this context it isn't helpful and looks really bad.

Make Donald Trump Pick Up Trash if He Violates the Gag Order | Washington Monthly (washingtonmonthly.com)

That’s the right penalty for an ex-president who has been mouthing off in the Stormy Daniels hush money case. He can’t easily be sent to prison without making him a martyr. But picking up beer cans is perfect.

Nothing can be done to him without making him a martyr, so don't treat him as a low level first time offender.

I'm in a position to buy old vehicles only. My current vehicle is more than 20 years old, and I don't plan to replace it soon. However, from my view, the sooner more options exist, the sooner folks like myself won't be driving otherwise reliable, but more polluting, vehicles. I don't even drive that much, about 1000 miles this year. So I could be driving what, 6000 or 7000 miles a year but having a smaller impact, but not until something like 2040 or even later at this rate.

Anyway, why push back? My winter climate isn't ideal for electric but people do it and I expect that to improve over time. We need it now, so others can have it then. My thoughts. For disclosure, I wasn't able to read the article. I apologize if I am off point 🙂

It's good to see you posting again. Many of us are willing to do things to help out as our skills allow 🙂 Be well.

Indeed, I suspect most people who identify as Marxist would not identify as Democrat.

As discussed in the article, of was never really about religion. It was about rhetoric. The bar for Democrats to keep states like Iowa blue was so incredibly low, requiring only action. But none could be taken, and it will now be incredibly difficult to overcome this loss.

I can't believe this King of Kong dude is still around, holy cow what a butt.

I am assuming you are dealing with 1099 income. As someone who had that 15+ years ago and didn't understand some things, I really hope you understood while earning that you have to pay both your portion of Social Security, and your "employer" would pay since you are your employer (even tho it's BS in this case). I didn't and owed a huge amount of money. Over US$3k. And I was making $10/hr so that was a lot. I had to get another job to pay it. I hope you'll be ok and are happy with what you do!

Author Mark Twain was born during the comet and stated he would go out with it, and did!

I don't know about now, but my first Linux OS was Ubuntu and I appreciated the long support because of this. That was in the dial up days, tho, I can't imagine why anyone would require that now ☠️

There is also the "unschooling" movement. Both of these groups are hard to work with. I was home schooled for two years, about 30 years ago, and we left because my parents had the presence of mind to realize that almost everyone involved was nuts. My mom is a teacher, I had it good, and if she chose to leave it, how bad is it for those kids whose parents don't really know?

I'm in the US and a lot of quality, locally made tortillas come in bags with a twist tie. I just fold/roll them over and put them in the cabinet. I also eat about three or four a day, they are my bread.

Sounds like an opportunity for locals to make some noise! Those businesses need to present data probably but it seems like an easy win to me. Maybe do something else for the traffic challenge.

Graphic pro-Israel ads make their way into children’s video games (www.reuters.com)

The puzzle game on his Android phone had been interrupted by a video showing Hamas militants, terrified Israeli families and blurred graphic footage. Over a black screen, a message from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the first grader: “WE WILL MAKE SURE THAT THOSE WHO HARM US PAY A HEAVY PRICE.”...

I just had to drive almost three hours to the closest airport and am in a hotel for a 0630 flight. I would say rail is best in ultra rural areas, too, because all the people live in the same towns along the rail. But no! No rail for me grumpy noises

What's the worst spoiler that you've inadvertently given to someone? (Please use spoiler tags.)

When I was in college, my then girlfriend texted me that she was watching Jojo Rabbit. She knew it was one of my favorite movies, and said that she loved it too. She was talking about how Scarlett Johannson’s shoes almost have their own personality. So I said,...

There was a class I took in college where we would read a book and discuss it at length. The problem (for me) was that we would read an assigned part, and discuss that part, each week. I, however, read the whole book almost immediately and tried to skim relevant sections prior to class. This caught up to me when we were talking about something, and I mentioned an event that would happen very soon to a main character, but hadn't happened yet. It was an incredibly important event. I really regretted it and the teacher's face was very mixed.

The awfulness of this aside, I think it would be great to have non-US news here.

Archaeologists in Zambia discover oldest wooden structure in the world, dating to 476,000 years ago (www.msn.com)

Archaeologists have discovered the oldest evidence yet of a wooden structure crafted by the hands of a human ancestor. Two tree trunks, notched like Lincoln Logs, were preserved at the bottom of the Kalambo River in Zambia. If the logs’ estimated 476,000-year-old age is correct, it means that woodworking might predate the...

What will they do when they unearth a large monolith 😬

But seriously, it is hard to really grasp that something like cabin building was happening half a million years ago. I guess that river might have been following a different path then?

The average American consumes 20 pounds of ice cream per year.

On average, Americans consume 12.1 pounds of ice cream every year.

I think this why it became so important for people in this camp to establish the whole grooming whatnot. To their listeners/readers, they are not dehumanizing, they are saving 😐
