@aram I pretty much think of this every time I hear people hoping Apple will do all the AI things at WWDC next month… LLMs are privacy land mines waiting to explode in the world’s faces. The company who is pretty on record as being privacy first isn’t likely to jump into this mess without more thought.

  • the app allows you to login to your OpenAI account, probably to signup too. ✅︎ Contact info (signup), ✅︎ Identifiers (your login)

  • the service allows you to type text and send it to a remote server with a session cookie. ✅︎ User Content (your text)

  • the service has a history of your previous chat sessions. ✅︎ Usage Data

I'll admit that Diagnostics is probably not something they'd need to link to your identity.

But really Apple's "App Privacy" labels completely suck.

would be.

Critically, they’re self-reported. And yet, at least some vendors are surprisingly honest. The Facebook app has a massive list.

@chucker @delroth @aram Can’t Apple force a company to change it though if they later found out they are t accurate? Change either the app or what they’re claiming. Not ideal but I think in the TOS you are promising to report these accurately?
