In many places, local Search and Rescue members are often tasked to help out during evacuations -- to spread the word, direct traffic, help the vulnerable, and rescue those caught in a tough place.
By training people to be ready for an emergency we're reducing the number and severity of tasks during a disaster.

@MsMerope@Hiker_Scott Gah, evacuating pets. Pet rabbits are extremely difficult to manage (especially since they are easily stressed.. and stress kills them). Dogs, a lot easier. Crate + chill pills + treats. Fish are also on their own, LOL.
In our prep session I was talking with our expert, Celine who is a pet first aid instructor and veterinary professional (and a very smart and engaging person), and she was mentioning that one of the main reasons why people fail to evacuate is because they have pets.
