sinituulia, Have finished the very simple linen nightdress. Straight seams by machine and felling and details by hand. One of those things that look like nothing in photos, especially unironed like this, but are very comfy to wear 😄
Every time I finish the neck opening in a different way and can never decide what I prefer.Very close up photo of the finishing of the neckline. A facing strip, cut on the bias, is being felled down with linen thread. It has been tacked down with pink basting thread, and there is a line of stay-stitching on the strip, to persuade it to not roll back onto the right side when worn. The linen is nice and fine.
A photo of the neckline, shown from the wrong side. It's rather neat and tidy. The slit has been hemmed with a very narrow turn, with a tiny bit of reinforcing stitches at the end. There are the tips of Sini's fingers in the frame, to give the camera that gets confused by indoor lighting to have something to calibrate to.
