:Oilers: Skye is watching Game One of the #WesternConferenceFinal closely. 🏒🥅 She’s pleased that her City’s team has made it this far in the #playoffs. She looooves the sound of the announcer’s play by play voice and the end to end action. She doesn’t find anything on TV nearly as riveting as #hockey. #StanleyCupPlayoffs
We got the final results for the #Hockey polls I put up a few days ago...and it's tight. Looks like there's no real split opinion on how either of the series go.
For what it's worth, I didn't get to vote in my own poll (thanks Mastodon?) but I'd give given the edge to both the Stars and the Panthers.
I think Edmonton's goaltending is their Achilles heel, and I think the Panthers are just too deep to be worried by the Rangers.
Image showing the results of the #Hockey poll I put up a few days ago. Results are split 50/50. Technically there's still a day left on the poll, but given that the Eastern Conference finals have already started, I think it's fair to close them now.
Because there's no algo the only people who see your posts are the folks who follow you (unless you're a member of a group like @hockey or use and follow hashtags 'correctly').
I was just talking about this with my mom, as we watch the NHL playoff game tonight. The #PWHL players have just as much skill and talent to play against any NHL players, but the difference is that many PWHL players have to spend time on NOT #hockey things in order to make ends meet. A minimum salary of $35k doesn't go far. Time working jobs instead of hockey training makes a difference for athletes!

Official explanation from Situation Room. I thought it would be a goal…my post-season record hasn’t been great on these
What amuses me is that when I watch Rugby or Soccer (especially the Women's World Cup) there is a larger proportion of people than I would normally expect who are referee apologists (i.e. who agree 100% the decisions by the referee or VAR).
Whereas with the NHL, NBA and NFL everyone knows the officiating is appalling.
Thanks! The team has been underachieving for several years.
In the long run it'll be good. Time to do some housecleaning - starting with the coach and no one should be safe except our goalie
@emarktaylor@hnom@hockey
Now that’s talent! Shoot the puck on edge so it’s skinny enough to get through the Bruin’s players legs AND past the goalie and the post!
OK, it was lucky but without the ‘on edge’ puck that ain’t going in.
@emarktaylor@hnom@hockey Rule 78.4: "A goal shall be scored when the puck shall have been put between the goal posts by the stick of a player of the attacking side, from in front and below the crossbar, and entirely across a red line the width of the diameter of the goal posts drawn on the ice from one goal post to the other with the goal frame in its proper
position." If there's a frame showing that, it's not this one.
