The company’s previous record-holding carbon capture plant, Orca, sucks around 4,000 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere per year, but the new plant can handle nearly ten times that, as reported by The Washington Post.

The plant’s called Mammoth and boasts 72 industrial fans that can pull 36,000 tons of CO2 from the air each year.

Ackshulaaly that's not nearly 10 times, that's exactly 9 times

Florida deputies who fatally shot US airman burst into wrong apartment, attorney says (apnews.com)

Deputies responding to a disturbance call at a Florida apartment complex burst into the wrong unit and fatally shot a Black U.S. Air Force airman who was home alone when they saw he was armed with a gun, an attorney for the man’s family said Wednesday....

Damn it is really crazy that you captured video of the cops doing that and now use it as your profile pic

If someone enters your personal one meter radius, immediately maintain direct eye contact with them to assert control over your domain. Stare them down. Do not blink. Blinking is a sign of weakness. You must assert dominance over your territory or else (by law) the restaurant will kick you out to make way for its stronger patrons.

I can't believe Star Wars ended after Return of the Jedi. George Lucas could have made a fortune if he'd produced a prequel trilogy, or a sequel trilogy, or made a lot of TV spinoffs.

Yeah for real, whoever said that is such an idiot. If he hired 5000 people instead they could get the work done 100 times faster.

On Kbin, in addition to up and downvotes, there is the Boost option, as seen in the picture.

If you are looking at these comment threads on Kbin/Mbin, when a comment/post is 'boosted,' it is automatically moved up higher in the thread, similarly to if it had been upvoted a lot.

Lemmy does not have Boosts, and so neither do any of the Lemmy clients on desktop/mobile.

Lastly, on Kbin you can look at the 'Activity' on a post which lets you see who upvoted, who downvoted, and who Boosted, which is what is shown in the picture.

I'm calling this guy out for being insecure and Boosting his own opinion to the top for visibility, despite the fact that he's just parroting an already popular opinion in this thread.

Edit: also lol, he unboosted his post at the time of me writing this comment. But the picture captures the original tomfoolery. Also I checked his profile and that guy regularly Boosts his own comments, but I bet he removed a bunch of those by now too.

Not a paid for thing, anyone can do it. As far as I can tell, it was just a feature Ernest (Mr Kbin Sir Guy Creator) programmed without much thought. So it's just a weird unique thing that Kbin can do.

Bethesda was under no obligation to talk to these mod devs beforehand. But it sure makes them look bad. As a recent comparable, Concerned Ape was open and communicative with all the mod devs before releasing his latest patch for Stardew Valley, a game that is just about as old as Fallout 4.

Bethesda has become a literal laughingstock at this point in time and it's just funny to point at them every time they rack up another L.

I hate it. It's been used so much that it's lost all meaning.

I'm a little similar to you. I paid like $200 for 16GB RAM sometime around 2017. I upgraded to 32GB a few months ago. For the same model and amount of RAM, it was $40. Lol. It was an upgrade I didn't feel any pain over.

How do you read any of that and come to the conclusion that anyone is "chastising" China? The other poster is right, you either didn't read it or are just a troll.

The article is using China as an example that increased concrete usage and its accompanying production is bad for the environment. The article is not chastising China for trying to provide for its "basic fucking needs of a modern society" by building "hospitals, schools, bridges, fucking sidewalks."
