@aitala that is a factor. But given the amount of time invested in data migration tools and the fact data migration is a common practice, I see most adoption blockers around existing business logic built into custom code. Nothing has been invested in lowering this barrier.

Data is data. It's getting migrated someway - to Drupal or another platform.

@mglaman What about sites that have basically no custom code - maybe a few lines in template.php ?

@aitala honestly I'd be baffled why they didn't migrate. Lack of expertise? Beholden to arbitrary contrib? Arbitrary and unsupported contrib can be considered custom code, then.

I'm honestly not sure. But I am hoping to make life easier for more folks

@mglaman yeah we have a few contrib modules that just are not ready for D9/10 yet.

@aitala so they were D8 ready? Are they abandoned by community?

This thing I'm building should hopefully let you run them on D10 by just hacking the info file.
