@Hiker_Scott@TerribleMaps No, the Earth is semi flat. A bit more like a convex lens (the convex nature needed to explain horizon is most cases except where you are near the edge of the earth. (See the documentary "The Truman Show" for what happens when you reach the edge of the planet). Scientists couldn't explain travel faster than sound, and they are not yet able to explain travel from New York to Hong Kong to London to New York in a flat Earth model, but it will come :-)
