@fkamiah17 WTF the two child cap and the bedroom tax were identified as two major reasons for pushing people into poverty. I guess that’s not a priority for “Labour” anymore.

@Nicovel0 And exacerbating the situation of those already living in poverty. Another regressive policy which sounds good to those least affected by it, and who still subscribe to the "bootstrap" bullshit.

Reducing poverty really does seem absent from the party's plans. If there is anyway to know what those plans actually constitute over and above 'get elected'?

But all the clear signals tell us is that believes in trickle-down, is anti-union, and his party is utterly corrupt and can be (cheaply) bought - see the Wes Streeting NHS is for sale debacle which would have shamed .

@JimmyB It's a function of basing their electoral strategy on appealing to old school working class Thatcherites (as well as being unreconstructed Thatcherites themselves, in the main). Punching down or thinking that "poor people must be poor for some reason that's their own fault".

@fkamiah17

It's at complete odds with the DNA of the party. Weird. I mean basically they really are now just , Mark II.

I am bitter at folks who self-indulged in the anti-Corbyn rhetoric. He was almost none of the serious things he was accused of - and the worst accusations to really land are he's not a great speaker, he's a technocrat, and wasn't clear about his Brexit position (it was spectacularly misrepresented). That's looking like costly self indulgence right now.

@JimmyB @Nicovel0 @fkamiah17 There's no way I'm voting for Labour, because, like the Tories and political parties right across the west, they have been bought by business and elite interests.

It should be unlawful to receive money from private donors. There ought to be strict and modest limits on campaigning funds, paid for from general taxation. Lobbying that gives the rich lots of easy influence, but is effectively entirely unavailable to others, should also stop.

@MadeyeTheCarnaptious Not surprised, surely?

@fkamiah17

No, but I still can't get my head round it. It's so overtly egregious (as my Dad said last night).

Streeting, the "shadow" "Labour" health secretary for England, is quite literally an austerity-promoting Tory!

@fkamiah17@toot.wales avatar

@MadeyeTheCarnaptious Much as many of the front bench are, either openly or covertly.
We need to keep our fingers crossed that Leanne Mohammed beats him at the general.

@MadeyeTheCarnaptious @fkamiah17 I am still waiting for the probe into Labour with the secretary handing his wife the job of database of all members that then got hacked and leaked and not updated.

@fkamiah17@toot.wales avatar

@Thebratdragon @MadeyeTheCarnaptious Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about that. And the Anonyvoter thing.
