Mostly these are western beauty & military vloggers converted to speaking mandarin. So in effect these people have their identities ”stolen” and converted to cash cows.
I assume only a few generations of AI will enable new forms of fake personas which mix & match stolen material harvested on the open internet.
Everybody is a subject now. You could be a celebrity in China! Only not under your own name.
