Let me spoil you and tell you that the government collapsed because one party was forced to become more strict over an issue they created.

Also, our political system works a bit differently. So "government collapse" can be seen as healthy.

@DevWouter From reading an article on it I do understand it means they're not doing any more rule-making, but they're still there doing regular everyday procedural things, so it's still alive and working, unlike (say) a US government shutdown.

Correct. The current cabinet consists of 4 parties, and they no longer wish to work with one another in the manner they agreed on 1~2 years ago. Dutch politics has always been about multiple parties working together, and we don't have a "strong leader." Instead, we have cooperative leadership.

It's a whole different system compared to the USA

@DevWouter Last week when Twitter became unreadable for people who are not logged in I jokingly said "now all the government institutions that use twitter to spread important updates will have to use the fediverse instead" and I'm glad they somehow listened to me?
