Frog, in Serial killer Robert Pickton has died in hospital after prison attack: Correctional Service Canada

Which prisoners are responsible and how do I send them cash to their prison commissary accounts?

howrar, in Health Canada must reconsider man's bid to use magic mushrooms for cluster headaches, Federal Court rules

Health Canada denied the request due to lack of research into the efficacy of the drug to treat cluster headaches.

That’s a load of BS. We know it helps this one person. Why does it matter if it helps the average person suffering this affliction?

SamuelRJankis, in What the 'inadvertent error' in the PBO's carbon tax analysis means, in as plain English as possible

What happened:

…based their high-profile analysis of the federal fuel charge — commonly known as the carbon tax — on calculations that included more than just the federal fuel charge.

It turns out the PBO’s complex computer code had actually included the federal output-based pricing system — commonly known as industrial carbon pricing — when it wasn’t supposed to.

The new numbers is not going to available for a while:

As we’ve heard, Giroux doesn’t think the “economic” costs will be all that different once the PBO is done rerunning all its mathematical models in several months’ time.

the_mullet, in The Supreme Court of Canada will not review a Québec ruling that bars Canadians from suing the U.S. Government over it's involvement in Project MKUltra

This other article provides further details.

Basically the 3 judged decided that the law that was passed in the 1983 couldn’t be retroactively applied.

However the plaintiffs say it can since it was retroactively applied in other cases.

m0darn, in Canadian Home Prices "Need" To Be High To Pay For Retirements: PM - Better Dwelling

I’m a millenial home owner, that would not really mind seeing a radical adjustment of housing prices. (Because I want my friends to be able to own their homes)

Unfortunately, I think Trudeau’s right.

GenX spent their entire lives trying to catch up with the boomers. Boomers got great careers and big houses in the city, lost a bunch of money in the dotcom bubble, and lost a bunch of money in 2008, but were mostly okay.

GenX got mediocre careers (less manufacturing, more outsourcing by the time they entered the work force) more competition for existing jobs (women now expected to work too). They got houses in the suburbs and had long commutes. While Boomers lost money in dotcom and 2008, GenX lost jobs. The Boomers won’t retire from the cushy management jobs so GenX is stuck in middle management.

Now that Boomers are finally retiring GenX feels it is time to get PAID!

They don’t have the penions that the Boomers got, but their suburban houses are a lot closer to the city than anything that’s being built these days. They’re depending on that value to retire.

These millenial upstarts want to pull the rug out from under them? There would be blood in the streets.

Just my impression though, idk.

njm1314, in Trudeau says housing needs to retain its value

Land should retain its value, houses should deteriorate just like they do physically.

I’m the first person to defend Health Canada having standards for scientifically-validated treatment, but there is clearly work to be done in actually making sure the science happens - ideally, cases like this where the treatment is being recommended by licensed doctors should be considered opportunities for research, even if it is only a case study.

VeryImportantUser, in Trudeau must more publicly support ICC decisions amid Israel-Hamas war: ex-ministers

All my liberal/leftwing/queer folks support Palestine. Meanwhile people they voted for went in a completely opposite direction and support Israel. This will be bad for their future chance at being elected again.

If any of you out there suffer from Cluster Headaches as I do, know that mushrooms absolutely destroyed them. I went from 3-4 attacks a year, to one in the last 9 years.

streetfestival,
@streetfestival@lemmy.ca avatar

That’s an incredible difference. How much do you consume and how often?

TSG_Asmodeus,
@TSG_Asmodeus@lemmy.world avatar

I just did it once right after the attack l had 9 years ago, and then once after one I had about a year ago. My doctor of all people suggested it, and I didn’t even trip on it.

So yes, if any of you also suffer, find yourself some (legit) mushrooms, they should help. I’ve been there and I know that pain, they don’t call them suicide headaches for no reason. There’s help!

EDIT: Realised I forgot dosage – I asked a friend who did mushrooms every month or so, and he gave me ‘the smallest dose.’ So sadly I don’t know what it was, sorry for anyone who wants that info. Just know it doesn’t take much.

streetfestival,

Thanks for sharing. I’m glad you’ve got something that works well for those headaches and is cost effective. Most drug industry meds are to be taken daily. There’s not a lot of money in something like this for the drug companies lol
