To combat #drought and revive their farmland, the villagers in Surajpura, Rajasthan, constructed a 15ft mud wall and trench system that spans nearly a mile.
It successfully conserved rainwater and redirected it to dry farms, reinvigorating them for the first time in over 20 years.
The water #conservation efforts led to the replenishment of wells, return of migratory birds, and the comeback of villagers who had migrated in search of work.
