BYD is really trying to take over the BEV market.

Mac,

“The cheapest shit you can get from China” is probably not something anyone should be buying.

fruitycoder,

Only if you care about safety, repaurability and not supporting slavery. If those are acceptable risks it fine for most.

monsieur_jean,

It's quite good actually. Got into one last week in Thailand (during a Grab ride) and I was quite surprised by the quality/finish. It's on par with all the cheap city cars we have in Europe : Not high-end, basic but not badly made. Enjoyed the USB-C chargers for passengers in the back :P

You’re not wrong - BYD is one of the best brands out of China. Was in Indonesia and rode in a Wuling, a Chinese co-op with GM, and it was a bit primitive - the ride was pretty rigid. The BYD in Thailand was by far a more advanced ride, both suspension and outfitting in the interior. Not flashy (they have better models for that) but solid and comfortable.

LemmyIsFantastic,

Temu is also cheapest by far.

ouRKaoS,

Can I order a BYD on Temu and get free shipping if my total is over $10?

You know, I havent put much thought into electric vehicles in Mexico. Hows their electric infrastructure over there? I havent been down there in over decade, and at the time they were just getting some widespread adoption of cell phones.
