    rumblestiltskin,

    @atomicpoet @fediversenews How does it compare with Lemmy? I guess they had different ideas?

    petrescatraian,

    @rumblestiltskin @atomicpoet guess this seems more Reddit like

    rumblestiltskin,

    @petrescatraian @atomicpoet The look does but the functionality seems similar. Lemmy made certain decisions about having the same topics on different servers being different communities. Maybe there are differences there? I see some users I recall from Lemmy, maybe it federates well!

    petrescatraian,

    @rumblestiltskin @atomicpoet yea, I saw users from Lemmy as well

    @atomicpoet @fediversenews did somebody mentioned forums? Bring forums back!

    padraig,

    @po3mah @atomicpoet @fediversenews I have been in the mood in joining some forums. Even spun up my own one recently.

    Looking for something without politics or religion topics. Something chill, y'know?

    jupiter_rowland,

    @Tomi the Slav and 1024 others @Chris Trottier Forums aren't gone. They're still here.

    15 years ago, Baby Boomers and Gen-X-ers claimed that forums are dead because everyone used Facebook for that. Now it's Millennials and Zoomers who claim that forums are dead because everyone uses Discord for that.

    Truth is, forums still exist. And they evolve technologically. You can still set up a good old phpBB3 board, or you can use something much more modern that was unheard of in the 2000s.

    cornmek1,

    @jupiter_rowland

    Still kickin' - highly focused. This club forum, for example, is still the best Internet resource for the Honda C90 cub motorbike.

  • jupiter_rowland,

    @Chris Trottier @Fediverse News The #kbin project site is not #^https://kbin.social, that's the "lighthouse" instance similar to #MastodonSocial.

    The actual project site is #^https://kbin.pub/.

    @jupiter_rowland @fediversenews Your link is a 404.

    jupiter_rowland,

    @Chris Trottier That's strange, it works well here. Maybe with the language included?
