Well, its only looking at commercial social networks. But for us, the users, all we need is it for it to be sustainable. And the fediverse is sustainable. It lets us create a different kind of social network that does not have those drawbacks.

Fortunately, the broader public hasn't discovered Mastodon yet. It is not clear to me how an "eternal September" situation will be avoided when that happens, if it happens.
