Futurama has one of the bigger communities on here. Lemmy needs more dedicated communities centered around a certain franchises, like Baldurs Gate or Futurama or live-action One Piece.
Definitely. Any subjects where people search for interests or for answers to questions. Google sucks so much ass now that I got into the habit of just using it to search Reddit for answers. Showing people it’s worth doing the same with Lemmy will be huge.
Haven’t even bothered watching them. The original run is old af now and Futurama has become a meme to most people. Just let it die and make a new show.
Made the full switch a couple days ago and already don’t miss reddit at all. The community is smaller, yes, but that lends itself to better, more engaged discussion. People are here because they want to be not because its the only place offered.
There’s no engaged discussion on here. If you have any opinion about paying for services, using Windows, or driving a car, you’ll be downvoted and attacked lmao.
I can’t say I’ve experienced any of those things. Not saying they don’t happen though, just saying I’ve had some good interactions about a variety of topics.
I doubt anyone is hanging on for mostly technical / security changes in 0.19. The best way to improve uptake is to remove all the sand from the signup process which as it stands would scare away many people.
