I just want to say thank you to everyone who favourites, boosts and comments on my posts. I've had such a crap time recently and I so appreciate you all going out of your way to interact with me in these ways. It is also truly lovely to find people who are as enthusiastic about drystone and flowers/nature as I am.

My experience of mastodon is, thus far, entirely positive. A corner of the internet full of kind, interesting, and interested people.

@kristiedegaris I’ve found a similar niche of positivity when it’s been sorely needed here.

    Thanks for bringing your authentic self and your beautiful craft to Mastodon!

    Jaq__W,

    @kristiedegaris It's been great to see your photos and read your posts - one of the main reasons I use social media is to keep learning. Mastodon is really a great place to come across interesting things, like seeing what you've been creating. I also find it a calm, positive, friendly space.

    JasonLee,

    We’ll just have to keep it all going & growing so.

    From Dereenatra pier looking south you can see the eastern end of Castle Island. This is taken looking at the south side of the eastern end. Two sheep graze on the grass partially covering the drystone wall. Long abandoned buildings & trees shaped by the predominately south westely winds.

    @JasonLee Love this!! ❤️

    marjon,

    @JasonLee You have me feeling homesick for a country that's not mine. 💚

    I love those places. Thankfully I'm planning a trip to my sister's near Bantry for the autumn. Will make sure to visit this pier. Haven't been to Schull in a while, it's so beautiful there.

    I do love your work, it is beautiful, as are your photographs too.

    It was wonderful seeing your tweets over there, and not your toots here as well.

    I am glad you are in my timeline.

    for sharing your amazing drystone wall designs and beautiful nature photos with us - they always brighten up my timeline!

    frameadvance,

    @kristiedegaris Thank you too! Your posts truly brighten my timeline! I am also very happy with the community that Mastodon has fostered, especially for people more vulnerable than myself. It really matters!

    @kristiedegaris Thank you! I followed you from your fist toot. You and your daughter have such interesting interests that this was a logical thing to do. I have great respect for your choices in life as well. If you ever plan to visit the Netherlands, let us know. We surely are able to find a fitting place for you to stay, whether it is in our place or somewhere else. My wife and I love to talk to “real” human-beings, who care.

    @JohanDiederik This is so kind. I spent a bunch of time in the Netherlands in my teens, and I loved it. Would love to return, explore more, and eat as much frikandel speciaal, pindasaus, and Hagelslag as I can. Not at the same time, of course ;)

    JohanDiederik,
    @JohanDiederik@toot.community avatar

    @kristiedegaris Frikandel speciaal?👀 No!! Hahaha! Not for me. Nice to hear that you’ve been here often. The end of March from this year we moved to Zeeland. Got a bit settled now. We love it here, but we love Your country too. I hope to see some more of your photos later! Take care and contact us when you are making plans 🍀
