    They had a few misses, and I believe they upset some people at one point, but I guess that's always a risk with comedy. Can't win em all! The funniest thing about Portlandia for me was that at the time it was absolutely spot on criticism of where I live too! not sure that is true any more, but it still stands.

    Especially when you realise that the so-called copper wire they will replace it with is brittle adulterated shit and no where near as good as the old stuff!

    Remember that pure copper in the old wiring is yours - an offer to ‘dispose of it for you’ is cheeky!

    Just so you're aware, if you think that using a CW will lower your engagement, I can honestly tell you, as someone who uses CW's frequently, that I've never noticed a difference.

    So use CW's. When you write a post, ask yourself if someone who may be struggling with something like food, drugs, weight loss, abuse, might need a warning first? It's a simple gesture of kindness and costs you nothing.

    Let's help keep the Fedi for everyone.

    I agree except for food!

    I got caught between two requests:

    1. people sensitive to food needing CW

    2. People recovering from eating disorders needing food to be normalised i.e. not CW

    Compromise:

    I always tag # Food

    That way both groups are happy because a content filter for the Food tag is trivial.

    Open to better suggestions but so far none are forthcoming.

    It was a direct request.

    I've stuck with it since and not had any complaints about my food posts since either.

    If someone is sensitive to food, it seems reasonable for them to have a filter for the tag food.

    Cool, no worries.

    For myself, I have no choice, I can't knowingly hurt someones recovery, or make it more difficult for them and I don't want to upset anyone who is sensitive either.

    I am willing to add CW or tag, same amount of work, makes no difference to me, the tag/filter approach works just as well and works for both groups, CW only works for one group. QED.

    If there is a better way that makes it better for everyone, I am all ears, but it's been about a year now iirc.

    I wouldn't say I was a fan of dance but then I saw this video the other day and was mesmerised. So I guess I do like dance and it just depends on the dance. And you know, maybe the editing and the music and the wardrobe etc.

    Cool, that's what I was getting at, I am sure you would have got there eventually anyway, but always worth a mention!

    I helped clear out a house a couple of years back, they had stuck polystyrene tiles to all the walls, all the way up the stairwells to both the upstairs and attic room... which was directly above the kitchen!

    I just stared, stunned, in disbelief!
