@apfel I like the idea, but I personally find the use of modifiers more straining than moving to dedicated keys. At least for most letter-keys.

How would typing workflow look like here?

@fabrik42 the idea is basically this, moving V and ' to additional combos (maybe index+ring).
blue background indicates a combonof the two adjacent keys.
bottom text indicates the hold-function of the key (and top the normal tap-function).

@apfel @fabrik42 Yes! More of this :) I know the "press between buttons" technique from steno writers and it sounded so appealing!

Got myself 20gf choc switches recently to try that and need to figure out more combos to test

@ctietze @fabrik42 20gf chocs are so good! i use them on my small choc boards, too :)
i only press "between" buttons for vertical combos, though. horizontal ones feel better with two fingers, imo.

@apfel @fabrik42 I find vertical pressing to be quite awkward still. Using left hand side's top 2 rows to insert numbers (instead of switching to a layer).

Is your keymap available anywhere?
