If you've ever wondered how a plantation looks like. The tree with the smallest girth will fetch roughly ₹10k or $120.

People are constantly advised not to plant them but who can control human greed, it always takes over. Nothing but the teak grows in these plantations - no birds nor rats, insects, or snakes. Depressing to be honest.

@Deus but don't the teak trees themselves attract any wildlife? Not contradicting, just asking.

@toridas_ No they don't. It's barren. Very similar to palm oil plantation. Palm oil trees at least attract porcupines.

@Deus That's honestly terrifying.

Why does teak repel wildlife?

Deus,

@pepsi_man> Teak wood contains natural oils and resins that make it highly resistant to pests, insects, and fungi. These oils have a strong smell and taste that repel many wildlife species, including insects, rodents, and some larger animals. Additionally, the dense structure of teak wood makes it difficult for pests to penetrate, further enhancing its resistance to wildlife damage. This natural repellent property of teak makes it a popular choice for outdoor furniture, decking, and other applications where resistance to pests and decay is desired.
