Wow. Do they just pump carbon directly into the air here?
(And here I was chastising my boss / Columbia for blasting the heat in my office so that it is 90degF, leaving me and my colleagues little alternative but to throw open all the windows, on seasonably cool fall days. Boss said small beans we’ll burn more carbon going to AGU in SFO, so good thing I’ve been sitting that one out the last few years. 🧐)
@atthenius@gwagner@roadskater you are right and small beans boss is wrong. If small beans boss was the only one with that attitude it would be conscionable.
There is this underground thermal energy map that says my building cannot 100% use this south but maybe it can use it 50%?
A decade ago, when our lease was up w Columbia, we all toured Knox Hall w its geothermal hvac wells and begged them to be sustainable landlords.
They declined. Renovated us w/o any HVAC update… now just as the renovation of the building closes, Columbia decides to ‘update’ our system… maybe… over the next year.
