To anyone working on a big open-source project: never let a single person handle too many tasks alone, especially for a long time. You will burn your most active contributors.

On ./play.it we started going along this route, but thankfully managed to realize it before it was too late and decided to cut things rather than burn people: https://news.dotslashplay.it/en/misc/end-of-website-maintenance.html
(other changes have been done to reduce my personal workload, but this is probably the major one)

@stan, thanks for all the work you did on 0 A.D., you deserve to look back proudly at all your achievements on what is the best historical RTS out there. Even commercial games can not compete with it ;)

It is understandable that he'd want to step down as he's doing so much, but it's also a huge blow to the project (I'm playing 0ad right now !).

Also a remainder to all FOSS leaders (and dev groups !) to start taking into account the burden of work early, before it actually feels like a burden to those carrying it.
